FaNs Care Home Bake-Off

Care homes across the county regularly compete in inter-homes "Bake-off" competitions in Care Homes, where ingredients are donated, dignitaries are invited, residents get together and cake is eaten!

Many residents love a visitor of the four (or more) legged variety, so if it's got wings, fins, barks or chirps, it's certain that our care home residents will have an interest!

Young FaNs Club

Involving under 18's in their local care homes is both important and necessary for continued inter-generational learning. From schools to NCS groups, great ongoing relationships have been formed.

GrandFriends

Toddlers in care homes is hugely successful, and the ColchesterUP project aims to take it further, with inter-generational learning, learning in shared play and an opportunity to create friendships

Remembrance Sunday

Each November, in partnership with Essex Fire & Rescue Service, residents are accompanied to services across Essex, with community groups and individuals all willing to help! There's tea and cake too!

Walk and Talk

Care home residents love to get out and about in their community, to talk about the birds and the bees, the grass and the trees, actually, anything that breaks the norm, so Walk & Talk does just that!

Sports FaNs

Sports FaNs is an initiative aimed at re-connecting residents to the sports they love, either watching or getting involved. FaNs will hold a database of clubs and associations for homes to access.

Work with North East Essex CCG

We support the work of the North Essex CCG with their local Care Homes for older people

Opportunities for Employee Volunteering Schemes

In 2018, our NHS turned 70! What better way to celebrate than NHS staff across North Essex granting the wishes of 70 residents living care homes? Well, there is, and that's by granting 113!

Essex Care Home Activity Staff Support

Every quarter, activities co-ordinators from different regions meet to share resources, ideas and concepts. They create bonds and ongoing partnerships enabling them to enhance their residents lives.
