In 2018, our NHS turned 70! What better way to celebrate than NHS staff across North Essex granting the wishes of 70 residents living care homes? Well, there is, and that's by granting 113!

Back to topNHS staff get involved in FaNs
The concept of our Wishing Washing Line is appealing to many Employer Volunteer Schemes.
NHS staff at the headquarters of NEE CCG in Colchester loved the idea of the WWL and wanted one in their office as part of their Employee volunteering scheme coinciding with the 70th Birthday of the NHS. So the campaign target for them became 70 wishes, for 70 Care Home residents in 70 days. It was brilliantly successful and over 100 wishes were actually granted.
One of the biggest benefits was when a wish led to the idea of a NHS 70th Birthday Party for Care Home Residents – our own Team FaNs Laura was a key organiser. It was held in Great Bentley village hall with care home residents invited from Colchester and Clacton. It was an amazing celebration, staffed full of volunteers. Cakes had been baked and food prepared. There was even an Elvis impersonator!
All this came from one idea and the simple concept of a piece of card and a good heart on a two-dimensional display on a wall in an Office building. The NHS 70 wishes campaign was particularly successful, based entirely on that. It just evidences that the sky is the limit, any wish can be granted!

Back to topCould your Workplace or Organisation get involved in FaNs?
We'd love to talk to organisations and groups who would like to get involved with FaNs, either through workplace volunteering opportunities or by supporting our work through fundraising challenges.
You might want to adopt us as your 'Charity of the Year'? In 2019 we were delighted to be selected as the Tendring Blue Ribbon Charity of the Year, and we very gratefully received a cheque from them for £3256.50
This money makes a massive difference to our Charity and enables our work to be sustained and developed in more areas of Essex.
