Published on 20th January 2019 More inter-generational benefits from FaNs The relationship between the home and the school has been going on for such a long time now and we ❤️ it! Well done guys! The children from Langenhoe Primary School came to visit us at the Manor. They brought with them their favourite poems, and poems which they had written and shared them with the residents. Abberton Manor’s very own performance poet, Wayne, recited some of his work, including a poem which he wrote when he was 10 years old, and then the children sat down to listen to Barry. Barry is one of our newest residents and he discussed his love of poetry with the children. The conversation drew a crowd as residents and staff listened in as the children questioned him on subjects such as snakes, his school days, his teaching career, and crossing the desert! The total and complete engagement between people from opposite ends of the age spectrum was a wonderful thing of beauty. Filed in: MHLEC News
